SABIS Middle School uses a percentage-based grading system. Students are assessed through weekly tests, periodic exams, and cumulative assessments, with each score reflecting mastery of specific learning points.
Top Performers: 90% and Above
Students scoring 90% and above demonstrate consistent mastery across all assessed SABIS points, qualifying them for advanced placement and high school acceleration pathways.
The grading descriptors shown are illustrative of the SABIS internal assessment framework for Middle School and may differ from external qualification scales such as Cambridge IGCSE or IB. Speak to your Academic Consultant for subject-specific guidance.

The SABIS World Language programme is not a general language course. Every lesson maps to a specific, numbered learning point, and students are tested on those exact points in weekly and periodic assessments. A tutor who does not know the SABIS sequence cannot reliably fill the gaps.
The SABIS Middle School World Language curriculum moves through grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing in a fixed sequence. Each point is a discrete, assessable objective: for example, a Grade 7 French student may be working on the formation of the passé composé with avoir before moving to agreement rules with direct object pronouns.
Missing a single point creates a compounding gap. SABIS weekly tests are cumulative, meaning earlier points reappear in later assessments. A student who did not fully master irregular verb conjugation in Grade 6 will continue to lose marks in Grade 8 unless that gap is explicitly closed.
Our tutors work from the SABIS point list for your child's language and grade. Sessions target the specific points where marks are being lost, rather than covering the language broadly. This is what separates effective SABIS World Language tutoring from general language tuition.
Key takeaways
From your first contact to your child's next SABIS assessment, every step is designed to close gaps quickly and build lasting point mastery in their world language.

Share your child's SABIS school, grade, and world language. Your Academic Consultant is assigned from day one and handles the match on your behalf.
We connect you with a tutor who knows the SABIS World Language sequence for that grade. You receive a tutor profile and can confirm or request another before the session begins.
The first session identifies exactly which points your child has not yet mastered. The tutor reviews recent weekly test scores and any periodic exam feedback to build a targeted study plan.
All sessions are live and 1:1. The tutor works through specific SABIS points in the sequence, using the same terminology and task types your child encounters in class and in weekly assessments.
Our tutors work to measurable SABIS point targets, not general language improvement. Here is what that looks like in practice.

Each grade has a distinct point sequence. Select your child's current grade to see what the tutoring focuses on.
Grade 6 introduces core phonology, foundational verb paradigms, and basic sentence construction. Tutors target the specific language and points your child is assessed on in weekly tests.
Explore Grade 6/sabis-middle-school/grade-7-world-languageGrade 7 extends tense formation, introduces compound sentences, and increases vocabulary load. Weekly tests become more cumulative, making early point mastery critical.
Explore Grade 7/sabis-middle-school/grade-8-world-languageGrade 8 covers more complex grammar structures, extended reading passages, and guided writing. Gaps from Grades 6 and 7 compound here if left unaddressed.
Explore Grade 8/sabis-middle-school/grade-9-world-languageGrade 9 bridges Middle School and high school language requirements, preparing students for IGCSE or AP language pathways in Grades 10 to 12.
